Beautiful quote / reminder on what teaching & learning entails and this applies to both, students and teachers. Reflect on it.
"Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change.
Learning is more than absorbing facts, it is acquiring understanding."
~ William Arthur Ward (American writer, 1921-1994)
A teacher must tweak his or her teaching methods, techniques and teaching style in order to inspire change among the students.
Its a great responsibility to ensure that the teacher not only impart the knowledge of whatever they are teaching, but actually motivates their students to take it to the next level i.e. inspire them to implement the teaching and improve their lives in some way.
A teacher should use whatever means to ensure that the student breaks free from his or her limiting beliefs and starts shifting in some way.
Learning too is an active process. What is the use of acquiring so much knowledge if one is unable to actually make use of it in daily life?
The goal, the aim, the purpose of all learning is not simply to know or pass a few exams and be certified for having taken a course.
The material learnt has to sink in and be fully and deeply understood in such a manner that it shifts the student's actions and attitudes. New results can only be achieved when one takes new actions based on what one has learnt.
