Practice Gratitude For Mental Health Emotional Wellbeing Happy Healthy Day 5

April 17, 2020

This is a 21 day challenge that Honey and I have taken on to create health, happiness, hope and positivity in our community.

Today's wellness tip is on practice of gratitude. Practicing gratitude is one way to create happiness in our lives and also to change our moods in these challenging times. Now I am aware of the stress people are facing but thinking about your stress will not make your stress go away. Watching the news is not going to decrease your stress either. It will only increase it.

I have been practicing this since last 7 years and I can definitely vouch for the effectiveness of this. Here's what I do as soon as I wake up in the morning is  - I drink approx. 1 liter of warm water and while drinking it, I mentally say my gratitude prayer.

Practice daily.  It takes 3-5 minutes to practice these. My humble request is that Instead we focus on things that are good in our lives. Things that we are grateful for and I am sure that will surely spark some joy in our lives, into our conversations. My Positive Psychology Professor Tal Ben Shahar says : "When you appreciate the good, the good appreciates." I do this EVERY DAY WITHOUT FAIL. Its a ritual just like brushing my teeth or taking a shower.

Please please do this, stay healthy and share it with your family and friends.

This is a community initiative for the fight against the COVID19 virus. Do please PARTICIPATE (Try it) & SHARE with your friends and family.

Let's stay happy and healthy and bring some positivity into our lives.
